I texted her Sunday morning and she got back to me quickly with all her available appointment times and a link to her booking site. Such an easy process. She started our appointment right on time and the whole time was so communicative about what was going to happen. It definitely put us at ease. She started by marking our two year old's ears. Our daughter was super cranky having missed her nap earlier in the day, so she was NOT happy about the stranger touching her, but Margaret was a CHAMP about it. She was so patient and when I offered to hold my daughter's arms down so she could do what she needed to do, she said that wasn't necessary and didn't want to upset my daughter. I can't believe how patient she was. I would have completely understood if she had said she could no longer continue given that my daughter kept swatting her hands away as Margaret kept trying to mark her ears. I was happy too that despite how hard it was Margaret made it a point to get the markings right. When it came to the piercing, Margaret was so great at giving us instructions on how to help her. She's such a pro and it showed. I was shocked when my daughter didn't seem to mind the actual piercing. I was expecting her to scream, but it looks like the numbing cream worked great. She just didn't like us restraining her arms and head so she wouldn't move, but Margaret was so efficient that the whole thing was pretty quick. Overall, I can't recommend Margaret enough. She did amazing considering how crazy my toddler was being. Her earring selection is really nice too! I was impressed. If we have more girls in the future, we'll definitely be coming back, probably when they're younger so it's easier for everyone.  M. T. M. T. She was very patient with my 3mo old when trying to mark her ears, and explained the whole process. My baby cried for a little bit but calmed down soon afterwards. She showed no discomfort the rest of the day and slept perfectly fine. Also, cleaning instructions are super easy. Definitely recommend!!

I love the way Margaret takes her time and is so precise with how she marks the baby and lines everything up. She pierces asymmetrical and lines the earring up to the child's face and then analyzes it thoroughly. It's amazing to think that naturally our ears and ear lobes may not be identical. Her attention to detail is so precise that she takes these attributes for every child into consideration so that the earrings hang perfectly. She is amazing. With my second we moved out of the area and we drove 4 hours one way to have her be the one to pierce my daughter's ears because I would not let anyone else do it. I recommend her highly to anyone who wants to get their child's ears pierced and if we have a third daughter I will not hesitate to make the drive to see her once more! Thank you Margaret! Sunnyvale, CA 5.0 star rating 2/16/2014 I went searching and searching for a place besides the mall that would pierce my daughters ears AND most importantly somewhere I felt comfortable with. I ran across babypiercing.com and couldn't get over the fact that this person had so many great reviews. I kept reading and reading them over again until I decided that she was the person I wanted to pierce my daughters ears. Margaret was super communicative and informative. She answered all my questions via text, which is my preferred method of communication. I made an appointment for Sunday feb 16th at 1:30pm. We got there early so we waited in the lobby while she finished up with her other clients. When it was our turn, Margaret sterilized my earrings (I bought my own) and explained what she was about to do and helped us hold her so she can mark her lobes. She even took out her phone and turned on this app with water sounds that gets babies attention to distract her, I thought that was a thoughtful touch :) of course, my baby cried but that's a given. The earrings looked beautiful and they were so perfectly even. Margaret marked her ears with precision. When we were done, she explained how to clean them and even gave me a little booklet calendar with my start date and end date for cleaning the earrings daily. Over all, I'm super happy that I decided to come here. People thought I was crazy traveling a whole hour to get my kids ear pierced when I could simply go to the mall for much cheaper, but Margaret gave me what no mall worker could...peace of mind. I did a ton of research prior to getting my 3 month old daughters ears pierced. Yes you can take your little one to a pediatricians office but they don't have the same experience. I actually saw a girl who got her ears pierced at a doctors office and the piercing was so off!!! Margaret answered all of my texts and was so patient with me. She is also so good with babies and kids. She is a perfectionist which I really appreciate. I am in the medical field and appreciate the steps she took to sterilize everything. San Francisco, CA YELP - 5.0 star rating 2/21/2014 I had planned to take my daughter (z) to her doctor for piercing, but was told that a professional piercing studio would be okay, and would have more options than just gold studs. After much research, including a drive-by because I'm just that picky, we decided to check out Margaret's website. Z loved having many earring options, and watching the video of a little girl get her ears pierced was very helpful. After I scheduled an appointment online, Margaret emailed and texted appointment confirmations/reminders. The piercing itself went as smoothly as possible. Z and I were both impressed with Margaret and pleased with the results. At the appointment, Margaret noted that not only are Z's ears doubly uneven (one slightly higher than the other, and each at a slightly different angle/rotation), but she also has unusually thick lobes. She took her time making sure Z's ears would look evenly pierced, then offered Z a pair of 14k gold post earrings of her choice (she picked emeralds) that had longer posts than the ruby pair we had pre-purchased, to be sure that the posts would make it all the way through without causing extra pain. The piercing pinched a little more than z expected, but it was fast and well done. Margaret sent z off with a pocket calendar and cute stamp to keep track of daily cleaning, plus detailed instructions on how to care for the piercings. I researched where to get our daughters ears pierced for awhile. We originally planned to pierce her ears when she was about six months old. I was hesitant because the only option I was coming up with in Sacramento was taking her to the mall to have someone that didn't have much experience do the job. So, we waited and I kept researching. We then decided to wait until she asked us for earrings--thinking we had a few years. At 20 months, she became obsessed with earrings and would gingerly touch them and say "earrings, please". She'd see them anywhere and touch her own ears and ask for them. Of course, we knew she would have no idea some discomfort would be associated with the piercing process so we waited some more. After reading all the reviews for Baby Piercing, we decided to get in touch with Margaret and get it scheduled. Margaret was fantastic, and answered all of my questions on the phone. We decided it was well worth a drive from Sacramento to San Francisco for this, and we couldn't be happier with having our 22-month old's ears pierced. Margaret took the time to mark our daughters ears so they'd be even in relation to her her face--not just measuring a certain place on the earlobe as most people don't have the same size earlobes on each side. Did our daughter cry? Yes. Was it any worse than her vaccinations? No. She was over it quickly, and we enjoyed a great brunch in the city afterward. I was shocked at the review on YELP regarding Margaret and her services. Oviously this mom was only concerned in having her way! I called Margaret and told her I would write a personal comment on YELP - Margaret informed me that she was gratefull for my call and was truly sadden by what this mom had written. My expirence with babypiercing was incredible. Margaret took her time marking my baby to make sure it was perfect. I felt that the mom that wrote the comment was only thinking about herself and not what was best for her baby. Truly selfish. I'm going to write and post this on YELP as I feel sometimes only one side of the story is shared. Not fare! Margaret is truly a lovely person and does not deserve this kind of comment. Took our almost 1yr old to get her ears pierced - she accommodated us the same day (after her closing time even) which was awesome. When we got there, we saw someone leave very satisfied, which really boosted my confidence. How Margaret dealt with everything made me feel even better. She spent a good 15-20mins almost trying to make sure the markings were even. She was constantly talking to us and explaining the whole procedure and how important it was to make sure we get it right etc. She was very patient and understanding, didnt' rush us even after the next appt ppl were already there. She took her time to explain aftercare and much to our delight, offered a 24/7 advice/support in case we had any questions. That was really nice of her, and really helps an anxious mom. Cost us just under 100$, we got 4mm white gold balls with clutch backs. All in all, a great experience and I would highly recommend her! After seeing the whole process, i'll def say it's worth spending the time & money on a professional rather than someone inexperienced - you only do it once afterall! :) 
Great Experience! My daughter wasn't too happy having her sleep disturbed to have her ears pierced and Margaret handled her crying so calmly. 5.0 star rating 10/20/2014 Highly recommend, as with everyone else. She is a pro, explains everything thoroughly about what she is doing, where she will be recommending you sit your baby for the procedure, how to double check the markings for the hole, how to clean and care for the piercing. It's a very clean and large facility that looks like it's an acupuncture/massage therapy facility during the week. So it's not just a stool you sit on in a mall. This makes a huge difference. She also has a couple tricks up her sleeve if your baby is active (mine was) and was very quick and precise. Really superb, not salesy at all -- just very caring and thoughtful. Thank you for doing such a great job on our babies ears. I tell everyone about you and your great service. The diamonds look so cute, now people know she's a GIRL!

I read all the reviews and thought they were way to good to be true..I thought once i called to make the appointment i would surly find something that didn't add up.WRONG!! Margaret was great with me on the phone. We stayed on for 15 min. so she could answer ALL my question..and i had a million. My main concern was sterilization procedures and pain factor for my baby. She had no problem telling me EVERYTHING. She's very thorough. Needless to say Margaret was as amazing in person as she was on the phone. She has a very calming way about her. The appointment lasted 20 mins. My baby girls ears look amazing..she cried a bit, but that's expected. When we left she was laughing!! Yes..it is pricey..but soo worth it!! Christopher S. Clermont, FL 1/17/2012 I was a bit apprehensive in my search for a truly reputable place to have my 4 month old daughter's ears pierced. We were traveling from China and were staying in the San Francisco area for a few days. Through considerable research and reading the reviews of Margaret, I was convinced that she was professional and would provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for me and my daughter. Margaret was very thorough in following up prior to my daughter's appointment and was so kind and warm both during the piercing and following the piercing. I highly recommend Margaret! She's a true professional. My fiance and I took our daughter Alayne to get her ears pierced with Margaret about a week ago and so far her ears are healing very nicely. There was never any swelling and my daughter never even seems to notice them. Our experience with Margaret was absolutely fabulous! Our appointment was at 11am and we arrived at 10:30am and Margaret went ahead and took us because her 10:30am appointment was running late. She did a wonderful job with our daughter Alayne. She took her time and made sure the alignment was perfect and took her sweet time in piercing our daughter's ears despite the fact that we went before her 10:30 appointment. She never rushed us at all and that was very nice. Once Margaret was done piercing our daughter's ears our daughter cried for only a few minutes and forgot all about it and she looks even more beautiful with her pretty earrings on. 1/5/2014 We took our daughter to get her ears pierced today and had the BEST experience with Margaret the whole way through-- from setting up the appointment to when we left. Margaret explained every step in the process and made sure she marked the baby's ears perfectly and confirmed with us to make sure we were happy as well-- she has an incredible selection of 14k earrings available (like birthstone gems? pearls? diamonds? ball studs? delicate hearts with diamonds? she's got them and they're all beautiful!). We went simple and chose the white gold 14k balls. The earrings are warranted as well... She's incredibly calm and was amazing with our baby-- once her ears were marked, the piercing was quick and the baby got settled immediately. She went over aftercare with us and gave us a calendar with reminders on it as well... again, totally fantastic. As other reviewers have mentioned, she is always available for questions afterwards and you can tell she takes great pride in her work. My friend's daughter also went to Margaret so I knew this was the place to go. (I avoid going to the city if possible due to the traffic coming to and from our home in Oakland, but this place was definitely exceptional) San Francisco, CA 1/18/2012 My 10 year old wanted to wear earrings but refused to get her ears pierced in front of everyone at the mall. I found Margaret and babypiercing on yelp. There was a satisfied middle schooler and her parents coming out as we arrived, which made us feel comfortable and gave my daughter the message that this place is not just for babies. Margaret was thorough and explained what she was doing each step of the way. The entire experience was very private, clean & painless. The piercings healed without infection or discomfort. We are very, very happy with the experience and the results. Found this place through Parentsays website. Best place to have your baby or child get their ears pierced. It's located in a Yoga health business. Margaret Mahoma has 35 years of experience in piercing baby's ears. When I had mine done it was at a mall in one of those center booths when I was a little kid. Nowadays, I just don't trust those places to do my little girl's ear. It's more expensive, but I felt it's worth it to get it done correctly and evenly. There's a small selection of earrings for you to choose from which includes your birthstone color. She said she had her piercing gun custom made in Germany. The back part of her earrings are screwed in rather than just a push in one. The room setting is like in a doctor's office but less cold since there was a window. My 5 year old girl did not cry, but just kept saying ouch, ouch, ouch. I let her decide when she wanted to get her ears pierced. So, if you are willing to pay a little more, but be in capable hands then I would highly recommend her. 5.0 star rating 7/13/2014 Where do I begin? We have a 4 month old and have been debating on whether to get her ears pierced. I swear thinking of getting your daughter's ears pierced before actually going through with it seems so easy, yet when you know it is actually going to happen, you feel so guilty of even wanting to let your child feel any pain. I searched high and low for someone who SPECIALIZES in baby ear piercing. That is when we found Margaret. All of the 5 star reviews on yelp are honest and true reviews. Margaret is the one and only expert in the bay area..trust me! Our little one knew something uncomfortable was about to happen because she started crying hysterically while Margaret was placing her marks for the piercing. Even with an uncomfortable crying infant, Margaret showed patience and her experience came through as she remained calm. Before we knew it, Margaret pierced our daughter's ears so PERFECTLY. We drove from Fremont to San Francisco and am so happy we went through with this decision. She is worth the drive and the $$. Our daughter was instantly back to her cheery self and forgot the whole process even happened. Margaret did not rush us but gave us the time to comfort our little one afterwards. Margaret was very attentive and made sure the markings for where she would pierce my daughter's ears were in just the right spot. 6/14/2015 I highly recommend Margaret. We took our almost 11 month old to get her ears pierced, and were concerned we were taking her at a stage when piercing her ears would be tough (she's a very active little thing). All that concern was for nothing! Margaret took the time to mark out the spots on my daughter's lobes, they were perfection. She brought out the iPhone waves app, handed my daughter pens, all to keep her as happy as could be. The piercing itself was more excruciating for us parents, I think, but our daughter was back to normal in under 5 minutes. I guess what defines this review? It's my first on Yelp! :) That goes to show how good this lady is!!
West Sacramento, CA I have two daughters and have taken both of them to Margaret for ear piercing. On both occasions Margaret did an excellent job. She clearly loves children and is extremely patient. She was very thorough in making sure the earrings would be straight, even and properly placed on the lobe. Margaret is great ..... She cried a bit but forgot about it quickly with dad giving her a bottle and a vigorous walk through the mall. No touches to them yet, she seams to not notice them. We used only 14kt gold - no surgical steel or plated stuff.

Not sure I would've ever have known about this place since it's all the way in Outer Sunset, an area I rarely venture off to since I live on the other side of The City. Anyway, I'm a first time mom and a little picky (okaaay, very picky) about what's happening to my Boo. I knew I wanted diamond earrings, 14k backs and a quiet space without any distractions so my daughter would be calm and the person could focus all their attention on her. I found it here! Margaret responded to my email inquiry within a couple hours and I was able to make an appointment for 3 days later. I chose to pay in advance to hold the earrings and guarantee they were in stock. We also briefly chatted on the phone prior to the appointment and she advised me of the importance of when I arrived with my daughter I should be calm/reassuring since babies can tell if parents are anxious (thus getting anxious themselves). There's plenty of FREE parking (not originally on my list so this was a huge bonus!) and we were in/out in 30 minutes. Yes, Boo cried... but I feel that it was more from restraining her arms and head than the actual piercing itself. Because 1 minute later when I lifted her in the air for our airplane move she was giggling again. Amazing little girl. Very happy here and I would absolutely recommend to anyone without hesitation! My husband and I came in on Oct 25 to get our daughter Meera's ears pierced. It is not easy for parents to see their little ones in pain, however made us feel at ease. You were very patient with us and gave us all the time to settle down and calm our little one before the actual piercing.
Even when it came down to the marking and percing, you never rushed us. You made sure you double checked the markings were aligned and that we were happy with the alignment. Not once did we feel rushed or pressured.

I flew in all the way from Atlanta to have my 4 month old daughter's ear pierced. My sister also came with me and had her ears pierced too for the 4th time due to previous mall piercing that would leave her with infections. No infection yet! And my daugther's ears are doing great. She gets compliments from strangers on how cute she looks everywhere we go! I did a google search for babyear piercings and after checking out your website and reading your customer reviews, I knew that I wanted you to pierce my baby's ears. Our experience went as well as one could expect for a nine-month-old with severe stranger anxiety getting their ears pierced could go, haha! It was a little rough at times, I can't imagine any baby who tolerates being restrained and having a stranger touch their face for an extended period of time. As the other reviews state, Margaret is thorough and is a perfectionist - something I imagine is VERY important in the long run (in the moment with a squirmy and upset baby, it's kinda rough, but understandably worth it). The actual ear piercing itself was probably the least painful part of it all - mentally and physically, for everyone present! In the long run, I absolutely think it's the hardest on the mom, but the crying and pain is fleeting and the end result is very beautiful. Margaret is amazing at her work and I could not imagine entrusting this type of procedure with an amateur at the mall. You get what you pay for and I think it's worth it. The steps of the piercing process and aftercare were explained to us in detail. The environment was kid friendly, calm and stress free. A small selection of basic earrings was perfect and not overwhelming for a little girl to choose from. Then came the piercing...NO tears, just a little flinch and then all smiles. She skipped back to our car minutes later. This was well worth the expense and I would strongly recommend anyone choose Margaret for any age child (or adult). 11/25/2014 10 STARS. We heart Margaret. My 12 year old finally decided it's time to get her ears pierced so I looked for the most qualified. It was painless and we were given specific care instructions. It's been 12 weeks and we're ready to put on new earrings:)
OCTOBER 18, 2015  5.0 star rating 10/19/2015 I can't really add anything more than what all the other yelpers have said. Margaret is such a gentle sweetie-pie. She is like a beloved grandma. One of my daughters almost got cold feet right as Margaret was about to do the first ear, and Margaret was very sweet about it. There was zero pressure, and Margaret was very patient and reassuring, and had all the right words to calm my daughter down. It was a tear-free experience for all, and my big girls walked out with giant smiles on their faces, and they're super excited to show off their newly pierced ears to all their friends at school. When she was finished she put us in a private room so baby could nurse and could be comforted in private, that was a super plus.  Daly City, CA Found this place through Parentsays website. Best place to have your baby or child get their ears pierced. It's located in a Yoga health business. Margaret Mahoma has 35 years of experience in piercing baby's ears. When I had mine done it was at a mall in one of those center booths when I was a little kid. Nowadays, I just don't trust those places to do my little girl's ear. It's more expensive, but I felt it's worth it to get it done correctly and evenly. There's a small selection of earrings for you to choose from which includes your birthstone color. She said she had her piercing gun custom made in Germany. The back part of her earrings are screwed in rather than just a push in one. The room setting is like in a doctor's office but less cold since there was a window. My 5 year old girl did not cry, but just kept saying ouch, ouch, ouch. I let her decide when she wanted to get her ears pierced. Not from the area but was visiting family and saw how great this place was. If I couldn't find a doctor to pierce my daughters ears I knew I wanted a a place that specialized in baby piercing. My daughter was about 15 months. She was so patient, kind, gentle and well prepared. I recommend to all! Worth the drive for great service! Margaret was able to fit my 7 month old in on pretty short notice (one day in advance...I'm sure that's not always the case), but she didn't give any grief about that. My husband and I had a lot of questions prior to the piercing, and her responses were immediate and informational. She really used the whole time to make sure that the markings were PERFECT for my daughter and weren't simply just in the middle of her ear, but that they complemented her head and all that. She was thorough in her instruction on how to hold her and where to have her look. Margaret was patient when my daughter was a little fussy and helped manage my daughter's wispy hair. She walked us through the pros and cons of the different types of backings for the earring and even provided us with some of the aftercare products (witch hazel spray bottle and a little calendar to keep track of the healing process). She also said that we can call, text, email her 24/7 with any follow-up questions You really can't put a price on quality, and I'm SOOO glad we went to Margaret versus a Claire's or a stand in the mall. It is a good idea to have a more experienced person to do this. Margaret definitely knew what she was doing. My 8 year old was nervous about this. Margaret patiently answered all her questions and concerns multiple times while we were in the office. At the end of this appointment my daughter was very happy. Margaret is also available 24/7 if you have any issues after your appointment.

Our daughter is 15 months old; I had been thinking about getting her ears pierced earlier (which I would suggest to everyone), but a hectic schedule and a small dose of fear got the better of me.
Margaret was very prompt in responding to my questions both by e-mail and phone. When we arrived for our appointment, our daughter knew something was up, and burst into tears, and proceeded to scream through the entire visit. Margaret was calm and soothing, and somehow managed to still mark her ears perfectly even though she was writhing the whole time! She asked my husband and I to confirm that we were happy with the placement, and then pierced her ears quickly and painlessly. In fact, our daughter actually stopped crying immediately after the piercing!
The office was immaculately clean. Margaret described the procedure in detail to us before proceeding, including the extra steps that she takes to avoid infection and make the piercing as painless as possible. She also carefully explained how to clean her ears going forward.
My husband and I were truly impressed. 5-star service all-around.
